Ideas Generating Session from 1-3pm on Tuesday 3rd June centred on the EPSRC EDI Hub+ Flexible Fund.
Members of the DSI Diversity in Data Science Working Group and FST EDI Committee are organising an in-person Ideas Generating Session from 1-3pm on Tuesday 3rd June centred on the EPSRC EDI Hub+ Flexible Fund.
This scheme offers funding at various levels (£30,000-£80,000) to pilot, scale-up, or evaluate EDI initiatives specifically focused on improving the working lives of those involved in research in the engineering, physical, and mathematical sciences (EPMS) sectors. Further details of what is in scope are available on the Hub+ website.
Our event seeks to bring together interested parties from across departments, faculties, and services with an interest in EDI matters in EPMS research. The session will include an introduction to the specific call, and existing EDI work in FST, before facilitated discussions to share and develop ideas. We hope that the outputs of the session will be ideas for projects which could form a full proposal to this or a future round of the fund, as well as new connections across roles and departments.
The session is open to all (regardless of career stage or role) who are interested in developing ideas relevant to the call.
We ask that those looking to attend register via this form.
For questions about the session, follow-up, or the scope of the call, contact James Grant (j.grant@lancaster.ac.uk), EDI Lead for the School of Mathematical Sciences.
