Lancaster Graduates Make 'Short Cuts'

Lancaster Graduates Make 'Short Cuts' -

Greg Tomaszewicz and Henry Kledjys

Two alumni working in film production came back to campus in July to talk to current students about their careers.

Henry Kledjys (Sociology, 1974, Lonsdale), an Independent Producer who specialises in comedy productions and Greg Tomaszewicz (Geography, 2012, County) Director of Lanor Productions, talked about their respective work in the industry and the challenges presented by working independently.

The talks were part of a 'boot camp' style programme developed by the Faculty of Arts and Social Sciences (FASS) which included workshops, speakers and one to one advice sessions for up to 25 students across the FASS subject areas. The students were particularly interested in setting up independent production companies or working on freelance projects connected to the production sector.

The two day workshops, entitled 'Short Cuts', provided opportunities for students to look at how business could be generated, gain an understanding of the workings of the sector and seek advice from Lancaster graduates at very different stages in their careers.
