Lancaster at the top for social work

The undergraduate social work programme at Lancaster University is the highest ranked in England according to the Independent's Complete University Guide 2011 with an overall rating of 98.5%. This rating is based on a combination of research excellence, student satisfaction, entry standards and graduate prospects.

Head of Department, Dr Ian Paylor commented "We are very pleased with the ranking which reflects the staff commitment to students and Social Work education. We have an exceptional staff team at Lancaster who deliver the very best of social work education whilst continuing to undertake high quality research. Performing so well on both these fronts is outstanding and the staff and students at Lancaster should be proud of their achievements in this regard."
