Prof Dave Archard and Dr Neil Manson from PPR will give presentations at a Gamete and Embryo Donation Policy Seminar at the Royal College of Physicians.
The workshop is organised by The Arts and Humanities Research Council (AHRC) in partnership with The Society for Applied Philosophy (SAP) and The Human Fertilisation and Embryology Authority (HFEA).
This seminar will present cutting edge research and analysis from academic philosophers on the complex ethical issues involved in gamete and embryo donation, as part of the HFEA's major review of policy in this area. The seminar will be attended by medical professionals, legal experts, patients groups, academics and journalists with a strong interest in the future of policy in this area.
Specific topics to be covered at the seminar include consent, payment for donation and intra-familial gamete donation. The seminar will be chaired by Professor David Archard from PPR, who is the Chair of The Society for Applied Philosophy and Deputy Chair of the HFEA's Ethics and Law Advisory Committee.
