Hornby Trust Scholars at IATEFL in Harrogate

Our two Hornby Trust Scholars, currently studying for the Masters in TESOL, Simon Ruiz and Saraswati Dawadi, have just returned from a very successful time at the IATEFL in Harrogate (the annual conference of the International Association for the Teaching of English as a Foreign Language). They were both interviewed and took part in a presentation, see the details below.

A.S. Hornby Educational Trust Scholars' presentation: How assessment influences the classroom teaching and learning of English

Interview with Simon Ruiz, Dame Diop and Yasir el Hag (Hornby scholars): Dame from Senegal, Yasir from Sudan and Simon from Venezuela give an overview of some of the issues affecting English teachers in their countries, and what is being done to support those teachers.

Interview with Saraswati Dawadi, Sbudi Lestari and Deepa Ellepota (Hornby scholars): Talking about their experiences of being Hornby scholars and the processes they had to go through to become scholars. They also have some helpful tips for anyone thinking of applying for a scholarship.
