CSEC and Summer Schools

CSEC members are involved in the organising of two week-long residential summer schools this July:

1) Transparency and Accountability in Risk Governance & Societal Decision-making - the second VALDOC (VALues in Decisions On Complexity) Summer School, to be held in Smögen, Sweden, June 10-15, 2007. This will explore decision-making and public discourse in relation to complex, politically and ethically controversial issues - see http://www.karita.se/summer_school/index.php (Bronislaw Szerszynski and Larry Reynolds are among the organisers)

2) The Summer Institute on Genomics and Globalisation, to be held in Amsterdam, Netherlands, June 17-22, 2007. Participantd will explore the ethical, legal and social aspects of globalisation in an international comparative way, building on theoretical and empirical contributions from international experts - see http://www.ishss.uva.nl/ELSA/index.html (Brian Wynne is one of the organisers)
