FASS519d: Presenting Conference Papers (distance learning)

Module description

The FASS519d site provides a virtual version of Professor Lynne Pearce’s course, FASS519: Presenting Conference Papers.  This course will be of particular interest to those who are about to present a conference paper for the first time. The sessions will take you through the cycle of writing conference papers, their presentation and possible publication. This new course has been designed in collaboration with Dr Xiaoxia Wang from the PPR Department, a distance-learning specialist, and is more interactive than Professor Pearce’s other online courses. Participants will therefore be required to commit themselves to activities which involve them in working with other students on the course, and to completing exercises before ‘answers’ and new materials are released. A particular feature of the course is that it includes video recordings of two student presentations which students are invited to reflect upon in connection with their own presentation style.

This module has been set up as an interactive online resource that will run for five weeks during the Lent Term (16-20 inclusive). Professor Pearce (L.Pearce@lancaster.ac.uk) will be on hand to answer queries and participate in the discussions.
