Unite with Business

The Unite with Business programme can provide you with PAID opportunities to work in a business on a meaningful project relevant to your studies.

Background

Unite With Business is an ERDF funded project supported by Lancaster University and five other regional institutions.

It provides students and graduates with opportunities to work for a local business, supporting business growth and regional development.

Eligible small and medium sized business in the North West of England are able to access a free business support programme.

Knowledge exchange and access to skills encourages:

Benefits for students and graduates

Working for a business on a project basis will increase your chances of future employment.

These short-term opportunities last for 20 days and provide a real insight into the work-place.

The Unite with Business programme pays above national minimum wage for a period of 20 days while you complete the agreed business project.

There is no cost to the employer, the student or graduate is employed and paid by the University.

The programme works with businesses that require additional skills and knowledge to achieve specific project outcomes. You will be recruited on the basis of your skills, knowledge and abilities.

This unique programme allows students and graduates to be involved in high impact, business driven projects.

Every placement will give you key skills for your Lancaster Award application and fantastic case study material for CVs and application forms, as well as making you more confident and knowledgeable about the world of work.
