Do you need financial help getting to interviews or help with associated subsistence costs? Then why not apply for a Lancaster University Travel Bursary?
As part of our commitment to employability, you could receive up to £150 per academic year to travel to graduate job, internship/placement and postgraduate study interviews and/or assessment centres where travel expenses are not provided by the recruiting organisation. Support for travel to workplace visits undertaken as part of the Careers Mentoring Programme is also available through the bursary.
Please note that interviews for part time, temporary, non-graduate jobs are not eligible for support.
You can claim more than once, but the total claimed should not exceed £150.
Can I apply?
The scheme is open to all current Lancaster University UK undergraduate students who are in receipt of a Lancaster Bursary or National Scholarship Bursary
How do I claim?
You can apply for a Travel Bursary once you have received an invitation to attend for interview or assessment; successful applicants will normally receive payment within 3 weeks of making their application. You will need to provide:
- Completed application
- Copy of initial invitation to interview or assessment centre
- Completed claim form with travel/accommodation receipts attached
- Completed feedback on interview/assessment form
Are there any conditions?
You must claim your Travel Bursary in the same academic year as the interview/assessment took place. Late claims cannot be forwarded to the next academic year. There is a limited amount of money available; the Travel Bursary will operate on a first-come, first-served basis. Once the annual fund is exhausted, no additional funds will be available until the start of a new academic year. All approved claims will be processed within 3 weeks where possible and will be paid directly into your bank account.
