Driving UK-China Innovation

China has grown to become the world’s second largest economy estimated to overtake USA by 2020. Outside the USA and EU, China is the UK’s biggest trade partner. In the first 11 months of 2013, British businesses exported £11.2bn worth of goods and services to China and imported £30.3bn.

In order to enhance UK business links with China and boost international trade and business growth, Lancaster China Catalyst Programme is organising this event with the Department of Science and Technology in Guangdong Province (GDST), China’s richest province in terms of GDP. The event will showcase Chinese organisations interested in forming international partnerships and provide information about the match funding available from GDST for UK-China R&D collaborations.

    Department of Science and Technology in Guangdong Province

    The Department of Science and Technology in Guangdong Province is a government department developing policy, proposals and regulations in the field of science and technology. Working with other departments, it promotes the building of the provincial scientific and technological innovation system with a focus on R&D, sharing sci-tech resources and boosting the independent innovation of enterprises.
