So we decided to start the year with a beautiful trip to the lakes, where you can enjoy the winter scenery with (maybe) snow on mountains and serene Landscapes. If you are into nature, walking, lakes, poetry or literature (William Wordsworth and Beatrix Potter were among many who were inspired to write in the Lakes) then you are onto a winner.
The trip will go to Grasmere, with the chance to visit Wordsworth’s house and if you like, to sample the local gingerbread and cream teas.
Then off to Ambleside, where you can jump aboard a steamboat and glide across Lake Windermere, indulge in the village shops, have s a spot of lunch or climb the exhilarating waterfall.
Finally finishing in Windermere and Bowness, where you can visit the Beatrix Potter museum, hire a rowing boat, or sit by the lake with a nice cuppa tea and breathe in the fresh air. A great way to start the academic term, chilled and relaxed. Spoil yourself rotten!
