Our data science and business analytics programmes have launched the careers of hundreds of data professionals over the last 10 years

We work closely with external organisations to ensure that our students gain the skills and experience that are critical to success in their chosen careers. Our programmes contain substantial professional development opportunities such as industry projects, guest lectures and placement projects with established data scientists.

Our programmes focus on multidisciplinary learning. Successful data science requires skills drawn from a range of disciplines and therefore our programmes are offered jointly by the School of Computing and Communications, the Department of Mathematics and Statistics and Lancaster University Management School. By interacting with academic staff our industry partners, our students are able to gain an insight into the techniques needed to perform professional data science and to acquire the skills needed to deploy these techniques effectively.

Students from our programmes have progressed to data science roles at Amazon, PWC, Ernst & Young, Hawaiian Airlines, eBay, Zurich Insurance, the Co-operative Group, N Brown and many others.
