Lancaster University's Defying Dementia campaign needs your support to tackle these devastating diseases.
There are many ways in which you can support us. You can make a donation, volunteer for us by organising your own fundraising events or help us out at our events. We are very lucky to have such brilliant existing volunteers within our Defying Dementia team, and we welcome anyone to join us.
Fundraise for us
Join our ever increasing band of energetic and passionate volunteer fundraisers. We can provide you with all the information and support you need. Our volunteers have so far organised cake sales, ran marathons, organised large community events and done memorial collections at a loved-one's funeral. One volunteer has even walked Hadrian's Wall for Defying Dementia! The possibilities are endless. Call 01524 592376 or email us with your ideas!
We heartily welcome sponsorship from local business, schools and colleges. Current sponsors include Pizza Margherita and Dukes Theatre Lancaster and previous sponsors include NuBlue, i2i, Jameson Smith & Co Insolvency Practitioners, Banks Lyons, BBC Radio Lancashire, Lancaster Grand Theatre, Carnforth Inner Wheel, Kirkby Lonsdale Coach Hire, Morecambe Golf Club and Lancaster Golf Club.
Bake for us
Host a coffee morning or afternoon tea party and enjoy some sweet treats all in aid of Defying Dementia. Email us for a party kit now.
Skydive for us
If you are an adrenaline junkie skydive with the Black Knights in Cockerham and fundraise for us at the same time! A deposit of £50 (which is non-refundable) is required then you need to raise a minimum of £500. £230 of that amount will pay for the skydive and the rest is donated to Defying Dementia. For more information, get in touch with us.
Run for us
Are you interested in running a marathon or challenging yourself in a sporting event? Want to support a local charitable cause at the same time? Then please get in touch with us for a runners pack. Previous runners have taken part in the Great North Run and the Windsor Half Marathon.
