EARLY CAREER SMALL GRANT SCHEME – 2013/2014 – notice of internal competition
The Research Committee invites applications from academic staff in the early stages of their research career for a grant up to a maximum of £5,000 in support of individual or collaborative research. The total amount available for distribution in this academic year is limited by the Committee's budget so applicants are encouraged to frame their bids in an economical manner so that as many staff as possible can benefit from the funding. Any member of early career staff of the University may apply for a grant in support of individual or collaborative research. Early career for the purposes of this scheme is defined as normally no more than 10 years post postgraduate degree or within 5 years of first academic appointment. Where an applicant is not a member of academic staff it is expected that a supporting note will be included from a member of academic staff indicating the availability of supporting resources etc. Applicants who have previously been awarded a grant under the scheme will not be considered for a further award
