As University Administrator, Daniel Asiamah Ameyaw is responsible for managing administrative processes and procedures of the Academic Quality Assurance Unit, University of Ghana.
He engages in course syllabus and lecture attendance monitoring; lecture room facility audit; manages students’ evaluation of courses and teaching staff every semester; facilitates the training of newly appointed teaching staff on teaching methodology and assessment of students at the University level; Co-ordinates the orientation and training of newly appointed Provosts of Colleges, Deans of Schools, Directors of Institutes/Centres and Heads of Departments.
Also, he undertakes a review of policies on the maintenance of acceptable level of Academic standard with respect to teaching, learning, and research
Prior to his appointment as Administrator of Quality Assurance at the University of Ghana, Daniel Asiamah Ameyaw worked with Presbyterian University College, Ghana from October, 2007 to August, 2011 as Assistant Registrar and from September, 2011 to December, 2012 as Senior Assistant Registrar and managed the administrative processes and procedures in the Faculty of Health and Medical Sciences as follows:
Co-ordinated and thereby served as the pivot around which all pursuits of the University Campus should smoothly roll out from. Served as the chief scribe for the Campus Academic Board, and its sub committees and other statutory committees establish by Law and Statutes for the Campus.
Ensured that the quality of minutes for the Campus reflects the deliberations; and that precedents and policies are consistent and in tandem with the founding Law and Statutes.
Performed as an advisor to the Campus Co-ordinator truthfully and carefully and also prepare agenda for meetings to enable the Co-ordinator keep the deliberations focused.
Implemented decisions taken at meetings and assisted the Registrar to implement his version for the University; Kept an eye on the use of the seal of the Campus to authenticate important documents.
Reported on vacancies arising for filling and promoted the training of all staff categories in the University Campus; Watched for fair practices in times of admissions of students who applied to pursue BSc. Degrees in Nursing and Physician Assistantship.
Conducted annual orientation programme for fresh students; Ensured smooth running of academic work by preparing academic calendar, teaching and examination time tables; Responsible for assigning students to tutors/academic advisors; Guaranteed uninterrupted municipal services to ensure that deserving staff have minimum conveniences to concentrate on research or intellectual disputations that can lead to clearer insights on existing dogmas or new discoveries.
Supervised Administrative and supporting staff and coordinated lecturers (Senior Members); Responsible for ceremonial functions at the Campus of the University College.
Besides, the Administrative work, he took up teaching appointment on part-time basis. From September 2009 to December 2012 he served as a Part-time Lecturer to the Faculty of Health and Medical Sciences, Presbyterian University College, Ghana.
