Academics' and Non-Western students' expectations and experiences in UK-based online postgraduate programmes
I consider myself as a social reseracher with an economic background and teaching experience.
My primary research interests lay in the fields of distance learning and new education technologies. In contrast to the recent studies my focus is on the investigation differences (if any) and similarities in the perceptions of online learning from a sample population of postgraduate students. Research will be comprised of two groups of online learners: students from former-Soviet Union countries and other western students and will examine how different population perceive and experience online learning. It will also analyze whether the present systems of online learning adequately serve the learning needs of students from different cultural, educational and economic background.
I am currently involved as a Research Assistant in Departmental project headed by Dr Kyungmee Lee and co- investigator Dr Murat Oztok.
