Study Abroad

So, you want to study abroad? Welcome to a great adventure!

A year abroad is exciting and challenging, both academically and socially. It gives you the opportunity to immerse yourself in the cultural, political and social life in another country, and to learn more about another society than you ever could by staying at home.

If you choose to study either of our Engineering (Study Abroad) BEng Hons or MEng Hons programmes, you’ll spend your second year studying at one of our partner institutions in North America, Australia or Europe. The majority of previous students on these programmes have found it to be a hugely positive experience, building their self-confidence whilst creating memories and experiences that last a lifetime. In terms of professional appeal, studying abroad will also set you apart from many of your peers, demonstrating to employers that you are adaptable and willing to learn, and have a sense of adventure and the confidence to try new things.

Although our Study Abroad degrees have a common first year alongside our other Engineering degrees, you will take modules at our partner universities that are equivalent to our own second year modules. This ensures that you still receive among the very best in engineering education whilst giving you the fantastic opportunity to spend a year living overseas.
