About the First Person Narration Workshop

Writing a first person narration can sometimes feel deceptively simple. Often, it is only when a project is already underway that the unique problems and opportunities presented by this mode of storytelling can become apparent. Join award winning writer, and tutor, Jenn Ashworth to develop your narration skills by taking part in a series of exercises and writing prompts designed to help you develop a unique narrating voice for your character. You will deal with the tricky balance between the external and internal worlds of your narrator, the slippery question of unreliability, truth telling and motivation and delve into the wonderful world of weird, unlikeable and off-kilter narrating characters. Give your work a voice, book today.

Level

This workshop is for all levels of writers, although may best suit writers with a project that is already underway. Familiarity with a workshop environment and a desire to engage with peers and learn from an award-winning writer is also encouraged.

About the Venue

This workshop will take place in the Dragon Hall, on King Street. Dragon Hall provides an ideal environment for creative thinking and learning with plenty of space and natural light.
