About Professor Black

One of the world's leading forensic scientists, Professor Dame Sue Black took up the newly-created post of Pro-Vice-Chancellor for Engagement at Lancaster University in August 2018. She leads on developing the University’s embedded culture of working with communities at a local, regional, national and international level.Sue’s upbeat perspective on life ensures that this public lecture will not only be informative and thought provoking, but she will also make sure it is entertaining. Her career requires her to be an engaged communicator whether to the courts, the public, police, government and she has extended this to appearances on TV and radio. It is therefore logical that she is Lancaster University’s first Pro Vice-Chancellor for Engagement.
