Title: Time series clustering: with application to mutant parasites!

Abstract:

I will discuss some ongoing work with biologists at the University of York. Together we are trying to identify the roles of specific genes in the parasite Leishmaniasis with the intention of developing effective procedures for killing it. We see the statistician's role here as helping the biologists interpret the data from a large number of concurrent genetic experiments. More precisely, our analyses are intended to suggest groupings of genes that look interesting in various ways, and may be worthy of further investigation.
