Lancaster University has been named Best University Halls in the UK at this year's National Student Housing Awards.

Lancaster earned the title of ‘Best University Halls’ for the seventh time since first entering the survey in 2010, a measure of student satisfaction that compares peer institutions as well as private providers of student accommodation.

Lancaster has also been given the ‘Best Individual Accommodation’ award for the County Townhouses, and the ‘Best Learning Environment’ award for the Grizedale Townhouses.

The University is one of just four higher education providers to have gained the International Accommodation Quality Mark, which recognises organisations achieving at least 90 percent satisfaction among international students.

Head of Accommodation Candace Davies paid tribute to her team and said “We are delighted to have been named ‘Best University Halls’ again – especially as the award is based on the feedback of our students. It really highlights the effort and dedication of everyone involved, from the Accommodation staff that manage the accommodation, to the people that clean and maintain it and the Colleges that add so much value to the experience and really benefit Lancaster as a place to live and study”.

More than 34,000 students from over 200 institutions around the UK were surveyed this year.

The National Student Housing Awards (NSHA) are run by Red Brick Research, an independent market research company, to measure satisfaction levels in all types of accommodation.
