Lancaster University’s Accommodation Services team offers accommodation both on and off campus, directly managing around 6,800 bed spaces in total. The team also runs a private housing approval scheme in the shape of Lancaster University Homes.
We offer a personal service delivered by a dedicated and experienced body of staff that includes 10 Accommodation Managers – one for each of the Colleges and another who looks after Chancellor’s Wharf in Lancaster city centre. If you live in University-managed accommodation, they will often be your first point of contact and can help you with any of the following and more:
- Pre-arrival queries about anything accommodation related
- Accommodation fees - you can also discuss any financial issues with them
- Cleaning and maintenance queries throughout your time with us
- Issues with any other residents
The University's own halls of residence in the city is Chancellor's Wharf, which sits on the edge of the city centre next to the Lancaster Canal.
Lancaster University is committed to providing students with as much help in sourcing good quality accommodation as possible, which is why we run the accreditation scheme Lancaster University Homes. This scheme collects together all the best landlords and properties in the city - from halls of residence, to studios, to traditional housing - and puts them in one place. In renting a home in the private sector that has been approved by us you can be sure that it exceeds minimum requirements in terms of size and facilities. You can also be sure that the landlord is considered fit and proper, all safety certificates are in place and your deposit will be protected as it should be by law.
