Costa Coffee in Alexandra Square is closing on Monday 6th August for around two weeks whilst they expand the seating area in to the empty retail unit formerly known as Ketchup.

The new space will accommodate 24 extra seats with an array of tables to create space for coffee lovers to relax and socialise in. The bar is also being extended with the installation of new cooking equipment to provide the full Costa range including hot porridge and macaroni cheese.

Jo Hardman, Head of Commercial Services at Lancaster University says, “Costa is a hugely popular outlet on campus and during term-time we know it can be difficult to find seating indoors, so the move to expand in to the former Ketchup unit is a really positive one and great news for staff and students.”

Contractors will set up a small site compound in Edward Roberts Court on Monday 6th August that will remain in place until the project ends. Edward Roberts Court is one of the busiest areas of campus and, although the works are being done during summer vacation, please take care when in the area.

The nearest coffee shop to Costa is the Deli, which is found part way down the ramp in Edward Roberts Court. To find out more about where to eat and drink on campus, visit the website.
