Lancaster University is investing up to £1million to transform Edward Roberts Court in to the main food destination on campus.

Wilson Mason Architects were appointed by Lancaster University in 2017 to deliver plans to improve usability of Edward Roberts Court, a popular cluster of retail outlets in the heart of Bailrigg Campus. Currently in the design process, Wilson Mason have worked with a large stakeholder group to set out a foundation of requirements that the project should consider. The team have now established design concepts and are set to present them to a larger group of staff and students on Monday 12th November.

Initial concepts have looked at re-shaping the pedestrian route around the court as well as increasing the number of outdoor and sheltered seating areas. The court is surrounded by areas of high footfall such as the Spine and Alexandra Square, both of which have recently undergone refurbishment projects similar to this. The overall aim of the project is to bring Edward Roberts Court up to standard, making it an attractive social space to people on campus.

You can register your interest to attend the consultation event on Monday 12th November by emailing facilitiescommunication@lancaster.ac.uk before 3pm on Friday 9th November. Successful applicants will receive an invite to the event via email.

The construction phase is scheduled to commence in summer 2019.
