Contractors for the Accessible Campus Project prepare to commence works around Furness to improve accessibility from Friday 30th November.

Lancaster University recently launched the new ‘Accessible Campus Project’, which will address accessibility across campus via a series of ongoing audits and improvement works.

The appointed contractor is now ready to commence the works and, following a prioritised list of ‘zones’ across campus, is preparing to start works in the Furness area next week.

Initial works include external improvements and remodelling of accessible routes around the Lancaster University Campus, including improvements to stairs, ramps, footpaths and handrails in accordance with BS8300:2018 and current Regulations.

We are taking steps to mitigate disruption where possible but please note some works may involve small, locally managed closures to ramps, stairways and doorways. Please bear with us whilst we make these improvements. Contractors are on hand to offer assistance where necessary and the Security Team are available 24 hours a day. 7 days a week.
