Visualising biological data
This talk will review some of the challenges faced and the decisions made in developing the software for the visualization and auralization of biological data, which is part of a collaboration with Peter Ghazal, Professor of Pathway Medicine at Edinburgh University. The software allows researchers to gain new perspectives on datasets, more so than is possible by viewing a printed graph. Earlier versions focused particularly on sonification; in more recent iterations, the visual aspect has been given primacy. The software allows for the simultaneous presentation of up to three related datasets, including the means to graph co-dependency, for advice on which I am grateful to the Statistics Service.
