Postgraduate study in Mathematics and Statistics

Taught Postgraduate Courses in Statistics

The Postgraduate Statistics Centre is a HEFCE-funded Centre of Excellence in Teaching and Learning, based in the department. It offers a dynamic, stimulating experience with an inspiring range of taught postgraduate courses. Whatever you study with us, you will discover a friendly working environment, committed staff and an academic centre with a strong sense of identity.

We offer a range of taught courses in Statistics, Quantitive Methods for Science, Social Science and Medicine, Quantitative Finance and Data Science.

Our new MSc programme in Data Science allows specialism in statistics, computing or environmental science. Its key features are an interdisciplinary study programme, industry placements, excellent career prospects and a dedicated computer cluster. Short Courses for Continuing Professional Development

The Postgraduate Statistics Centre also offers a programme of continuing professional development courses aimed at scientists, social scientists, health researchers, teachers and professional medical statisticians. Our courses cover a wide variety of topics including Using R Software, Structural Equation Modelling and Longitudinal Data Analysis, as well as Clinical Trials methodology.

Research Degrees

We offer the opportunity to study for a research degree in any of our specialisms across Pure Mathematics and Statistics.
