Puberty: sexed bodies and global changeSummary: This project is a critical examination of puberty: what it is thought to be, how it is experienced, and how it is represented. The project has several elements: 1) detailed analyses of a variety of texts and discourses: biomedical papers, textbooks and reports; educational materials; images from fine art and popular culture; and social scientific research; 2) interviews and group work with parents and teachers about their experiences of educating children about puberty; and 3) group work with young people to explore new ways of thinking about puberty. The project will result in several papers and a book.
