Research InterestsI came to Lancaster in December 2003 after working on disability-related research projects at the Social Policy Research Unit (SPRU), University of York and the Centre for Disability Studies at the University of Leeds. My research interests lie predominantly in the field of disability studies and include the self-organisation and citizenship of disabled people; service provision for adult service users; disability policy at a UK and European level; and mobility and social capital in relation to (disabled) careers. I am a member of management committee of the newly established Centre for Disability Reserach (CeDR) an interdisciplinary centre that draws together colleagues interested in disability from across the University and beyond. Bob Sapey and I have organised three international disability studies conferences here at Lancaster (2003; 2004; 2006). The conference now takes place on a biennial basis alternating with the Nordic Network on Disability Research's conferences. The next Lancaster conference will take place 2-4 September 2008. More details about the conference, the call for papers and information about booking can be found on the conference website. I am a member of the editorial board of the international journal Disability and Society and have reviewed articles for Disability Studies Quarterly and Progress in Palliative Care. I have contributed book reviews to Disability and Society, the British Journal of Social Work and Qualitative Research in Psychology. Recent Publications Roulstone, A. and Morgan H.
