Entry Requirements for a Masters DegreeThe requirement for postgraduate studies in Gender and Women's Studies is generally a good first degree - a UK 2(i) or the equivalent in other national assessment systems - in a relevant field or discipline. English Language RequirementsTo benefit from our MA you need excellent written and spoken English. If English is not your first language, or the language in which you received your undergraduate degree, the University will request details of your English language qualification. Normally, in order to be admitted to our MAs you will be asked for an IELTS score of 7.0 or above, although we'll accept 6.5 if you can attend the 4 week course in English (English for Academic Purposes - Study Skills - Programme) at the Department of Linguistics and English Language before you start. Alternatively, we ask for a TOEFL score of 600 (250 computer based test) or above, although we accept a slightly lower score if you attend the 4 week Study Skills course in English in the Department of Linguistics and English Language. If your qualification is not at this level, please contact the Postgraduate Director. |
