Paula Burkinshaw - Women and leadership in higher eduation

Dr Paula Burkinshaw, who was recently awarded a PhD by Lancaster University, was invited to speak to the All-party Parliamentary University Group (APPG) on Universities on December 10th 2013. This group is made up of MPs and peers together with vice-chancellors from UK universities. APPG meets regularly to discuss issues pertinent to higher education.

Paula addressed an APPG meeting about women and leadership in the HE sector. The two other speakers were Professor Janet Beer (Vice Chancellor Oxford Brookes University) and Norma Jarboe (CEO WomenCount).

Paula's doctoral research was reported in Times Higher Education on August 22nd 2013 and she was the organiser of the "Missing Women" in higher education leadership conference held at Lancaster University in June 2013.
