The Department is not currently recruiting to the certificate, diploma and masters courses in Education or Educational Research. MA in EducationThe MA in Education offers students research-led professional and academic development. It is designed to enable students to construct programmes of study relevant to their own professional and academic concerns and, where appropriate, to the development concerns of their own institution. It provides structured input but allows for flexibility and encourages the development of research based skills. To complete the MA in Education you need to take 6 modules and a 3 unit dissertation. EDS 801 Introduction to Educational Research and Evaluation is compulsory. You will need to choose a further five modules from:
Each module has associated coursework and we encourage the negotiation of topics or titles which are of particular relevance to an individual's professional situation. Students frequently join the course in order to develop research and evaluation skills which they will continue to use in their work, and a number use the opportunity of supervised independent study provided by the self-directed study and dissertation units to develop and evaluate research and intervention projects.
