I research contemporary children's gothic literature and film, as well as the 'gothic' history of children's literature, with a particular focus on the reading 'child' gothic fiction constructs. I am also interested in Weird Fiction, the 'Cthulhu Mythos' fiction of H.P. Lovecraft, and the history of horror film. In addition, I research 'geek' and 'fan' subcultures.
