Collaborative Agreement with the Wordsworth Trust

Date: 22 February 2012

We are delighted to announce a new Five Year Collaborative Agreement between The Wordsworth Trust and Lancaster University starting in 2012. This agreement formalises a long-standing, fruitful relationship between the Trust and The Wordsworth Centre involving PhD placements, AHRC funded projects, field trips and other activities.

The Collaborative Agreement establishes three major activities each year:

  • An "immersive experience" at the Trust for students in the Department of English providing a unique opportunity to stay in the Lakes, be introduced to the rich archive at the Jerwood Centre and experience all aspects of museum, archival and manuscript work.
  • An annual competitive internship. One of the prestigious internships at the Trust will be awarded to a Lancaster graduate each year.
  • An annual art exhibition held at the Peter Scott Gallery on the Lancaster Campus but drawing upon the superb art collection held at the Trust.

We look forward to building ever-stronger research and outreach links with the Trust in the years to come.

Simon Bainbridge and Sally Bushell

Co-Directors of The Wordsworth Centre
