Date: 26 April 2012

Allyson Fiddler will give a talk to the Austrian Studies Association in Long Beach, California. Her paper, entitled 'Sounding out Austria', will analyse some of the many examples of protest music against the rise of the far right in Austrian politics. Examples taken from as genres ranging from pop, punk, electronic and choral music will be examined for the manner in which they voice their resistance to the alarming turn to the right in Austria around the turn of the century.
