Studying German and Playing Football - DELC Students at the Sauerkraut Cup

Lancaster Sauerkraut team 2012

Date: 28 April 2012

Students from the Department of European Languages and Cultures took part in the Sauerkraut Cup in Leeds on Saturday 28 April. The Sauerkraut Cup is an annual football tournament involving German departments from up and down the country. The motto of this year's tournament was "Euro Cup 1972" and Romania was our country. Despite the cold and the rain our two teams enjoyed the experience a lot, because it brought together students from all years of study. It was also a great opportunity to meet German students from other British universities. Well, our students did not bring the Sauerkraut Cup to Lancaster this year - but maybe next year?
