The Richardson Institute Inaugural Peace Studies Lecture

Date: 13 October 2006 Time: 7.30 pm

Speaker: Mr Robert Fisk, Middle East Correspondent of the Independent October 2006 was the 125th Anniversary of the birth of Lewis Fry Richardson. To mark this event, we have begun a new initiative, the Annual Richardson Institute Peace Studies Lecture. Each year, a leading commentator working in the area of peace and conflict research will be invited to give the peace studies lecture at Lancaster. The Inaugural Lecture was delivered by Robert Fisk, Middle East Correspondent of the Independent on 13 October 2006. He received a rapturous reception from around the 420 people who attended the event and spoke about his experiences of reporting on war for over 30 years, with a particular focus on the Middle East and US/UK policies in Iraq. The Richardson Institute would like to express its thanks to Robert for giving the Inaugural Lecture and to all those within the university who helped to organise the event.
