Date: 1-2 May 2008 Time: tbc

This event is being organised by the Richardson Institute with support from the Lancaster University Research Committee, and will take place on 1-2 May 2008.

The workshop will examine the nature roles and impacts of diaspora communities within violent political conflicts across a number of different locations. The focus of this event will be to bring together an international network of scholars working in the area of diaspora research to present their ideas and discuss areas of overlap and divergence across different case studies. One of the key themes of the discussion will be to examine what (if any) potential exists for diasporas to play a supportive role in helping to bring violent political conflicts to an end.
