History Departmental Seminar

Hugh Doherty from Christchurch, Oxford, will give a talk entitled 'The Shire of Appleby, 1133-1228'.

The seminar will take place in Furness C50.

Hugh completed his DPhil at Oxford in 2008 and is currently employed as a Research Associate on the AHRC 'Charters of Henry I' project. In his geographical area of expertise he shares interests with AJLW, while his case-study of the Norman settlement in Westmoreland intersects both with our Contested Common Land and Norman Edge projects.
