Reckless Sleepers at The Nuffield Theatre

Reckless Sleepers bring The Pilots to
the Nuffield Theatre, Lancaster
The Nuffield Theatre at Lancaster University Presents:
8pm Tuesday 2nd & Wednesday 3rd December
£10 / £7
A unique performance experience from internationally acclaimed Anglo-Belgian performance company, Reckless Sleepers, comes to Lancaster's Nuffield Theatre this December.
Two men are pretending to be pilots. Two men are pretending to be George Michael and Andrew Ridgely in the Club Tropicana video pretending to be pilots. Two men are pretending to know what they're doing.
The Pilots follows a flight path from arrival to departure on a journey into uncharted territory. Reckless Sleepers mark 20 years of cutting edge contemporary performance by going back to the beginning. A theatre. An audience. Two men pretending to be pilots. Trying to find out who they are, where they are in the world and on the page and what their motivation is…
Mole Wetherell, Artistic Director, says: 'The Pilots is part of a whole series of works which are loosely tied to an idea of acts of terror, or terrorism. That's a starting point, that's a beginning of a journey. However with the work that we do, what I am particularly interested in is how we can move an idea out of the obvious, and literal, without something being so abstract that its difficult to read what the idea is.'
The Pilots is Reckless Sleepers 10th touring show and continues to challenge theatrical convention.
