Launch Event for Drugs Research at Lancaster University (DR@LU) Research Group
Date: 17 June 2011 Time: 15:00-17:00pm
Venue: Bowland North Seminar Room 20
This new research group aims to bring together those with an interest in all aspects of drug and alcohol use from across diverse departments and faculties at Lancaster University. The group will also act as a conduit for the organisation of seminars, workshops and conferences on drug and alcohol use at Lancaster University, and for the preparation of interdisciplinary funding bids and support for those staff and postgraduate students working in the drug and alcohol research field.
When: 3pm to 5pm Friday 17th June 2011.
Where: Bowland North Seminar Room 20.
Please note that this event is free, but is limited to 30 places. Email Karenza.email@example.com to confirm your attendance for catering purposes.
3pm: Welcome and launch of DR@LU (Dr Ian Paylor).
3:15pm - 4pm: Dr Fiona Hutton, Senior Lecturer, School of Social and Cultural Studies, Victoria University of Wellington, New Zealand: Populism, prohibition and party pills: an analysis of the prohibition of party pills in New Zealand.
4-4:15pm: Tea and coffee break.
4:15pm - 5pm: Dr Fiona Measham, Senior Lecturer in Criminology and Dr Karenza Moore, Lecturer in Criminology, Department of Applied Social Science, Lancaster University: Continuity and Change in Drug Use and Drug Research
5pm onwards: Drinks and nibbles in the Department of Applied Social Science club space, Bowland North C Floor.
Please note that new members of DR@LU from across Lancaster University are always welcome. We also encourage suggestions for future events, funding bids, papers etc.
