John Urry author and member of Scientific Advisory Committee... newly released report.
Date: 18 November 2013
Distinguished Professor John Urry is one of the authors and member of the Scientific Advisory Committee for a newly released report on social science contributions to understanding climate change. The "2013 World Social Sciences Report", co-published by UNESCO, ISSC and OECD, is entitled "Changing Global Environments" and features articles by more than 150 leading experts from all over the world. This work represents the full gamut of social science subjects: anthropology, economics, development studies, geography, political science, psychology, and sociology. The argument that underpins the 600-page volume is that people, human behaviour and societies need to be at the heart of all attempts to tackle the challenges of environmental change and phenomena studied by the natural sciences.
