Lancaster's first FutureLearn MOOC launched - Corpus linguistics: method, analysis, interpretation

Lancaster's first FutureLearn MOOC: Corpus linguistics: method, analysis, interpretation, launched on 27th January, has met with an enthusiastic reaction from users all around the globe. Linguists are pleased with the wealth of resources including free software and expert lectures. Others have joined from different fields and have been quick to share their ideas for how to apply corpus linguistics to their own projects.
Two thousand people introduced themselves in the first week. The course is also being praised for its accessibility. The downloadable slides and video subtitles are appreciated by many users, including deaf people. The course is structured to feature materials at different levels and give everyone an insight into Lancaster University research and student experience.
The course is led by one of the top academics in the field of corpus linguistics: Professor Tony McEnery.
