Former PhD student named Prime Minister of the Palestinian Authority

Professor Rami Hamdallah, President of the An-Najah University (Palestine - West Bank), has been installed as the new Prime Minister of the Palestinian Authority. Professor Hamdallah was a student at Lancaster University, where he gained his PhD in Linguistics under the supervision of Gerry Knowles (now retired).
