Dr James Taylor consulted by The Observer newspaper

Date: 10 March 2009

In her article in The Observer on 8 March 2009, the columnist Catherine Bennett used Dr James Taylor's article 'Commercial Fraud and Public Men in Victorian Britain', published in Historical Research in 2005, which describes the public humiliation of those Victorian speculators responsible for bringing down the Royal British Bank in 1856, to argue that Sir Fred Goodwin, former head of the Royal Bank of Scotland, should be similarly treated and stripped of his knighthood.
