David Sugarman Wins Journal of Law and Society Special Issue Competition

Date: 29 October 2013

The competition to edit the Journal of Law and Society (JLS) Special Issue for 2015 was won by David Sugarman (Lancaster) and Linda Mulcahy (LSE). Their successful proposal addresses alternative and critical approaches to Legal Biography. Entitled, "An Unauthorised Guide to Legal Life Writing: Marginalised Subjects and Sources", the special issue focusses on the lives of those usually marginalised or otherwise treated as outsiders and on expanding the range of sources used to research legal lives. The contributors include: Rosemary Auchmuty (Reading); Fiona Cownie (Keele); Pnina Lahav (Boston); Catharine Macmillan (Reading); Mara Malagodi (LSE); Linda Mulcahy (LSE); Leslie Moran (Birkbeck); and David Sugarman (Lancaster). Special issues of the JLS appear as an issue of the journal and as a hard back book.
