BA Politics and International Relations Part II Modules

2nd year core options

All modules are 30 credits and run across Michaelmas and Lent. Three modules must be chosen from the core list below. The remaining module can be freely chosen from all second year modules in PPR

  • PPR221: International Relations and Security
  • PPR222: Politics of Development
  • PPR223: The United Kingdom: State, Politics and Policy
  • PPR224: Politics of the European Union
  • PPR225: Introduction to Peace Studies
  • PPR226: Comparative Politics of the Asia Pacific and the Middle East
  • PPR227: Foreign Policy of Contending Powers
  • PPR239: Indian Politics, Society and Religion

3rd year core options

In the third year there is a option (but not requirement) to take a dissertation unit.

In the third year the 60 credits will be composed by following one of the following options:

[1] Four half units chosen from the core list.

[2] A dissertation, plus 2 half-unit modules chosen from the core list (below).

[3] A dissertation, plus 1 full module chosen from the second year list (to be counted as a third year module).

  • PPR335: War and Peace in the Balkans and the Caucasus
  • PPR336: Africa and Global Politics
  • PPR337: Society and Politics of Latin America
  • PPR338: Art, Museums and International Relations
  • PPR340: Islamic Politics
  • PPR341: Contemporary Issues in Human Rights
  • PPR342: Global Political Economy and the World Today
  • PPR343: Corporations, Global Political Economy and the Law
  • PPR345: Exploring the Persian Gulf
