The Importance of Translation for Minority Cultures

The subheading 'Translation' concerns a wide range of issues relating to the contribution of translation in shaping and disseminating peripheral cultures.

Recent Publications:

Frederic Barberà, 'Años y leguas en el context de la influència catalana en Gabriel Miró', in 'Anys i llegües by Gabriel Miró' (translated by Enric Valor), Denes, Valencia, 2004.

Peripheral Identities also promotes the translation of key texts between European languages. A recent example was the translation of Frederic Barberà's updated edition and translation of Daniele Conversi's 'The Basques, The Catalans and Spain'. Daniele Conversi, 'Els bascos, els catalans i Espanya', F. Barberà, ed.; Anna Delclòs and F. Barberà, trans., Pagès Editors, Lleida, 2004.
