Higham

Thomas Higham (1796-1844). Engraver. His first work with Turner was a plate published in 1822 for Whitaker's History of Richmondshire (1818-23) (see Yorkshire Series). In total he engraved fewer than 10 plates after Turner, but J.C. Armytage, who engraved many plates for Ruskin 's books, considered Higham's engraving of Rouen Cathedral for Turner's The Rivers of France to be 'one of the plates of the century'.
