Claire Wildsmith is a postgraduate student at Lancaster University researching the critical reception of Ruskin in the Victorian period. She has contributed an essay on art criticism to Robert Hewison, ed., Ruskin's Artists: Studies in the Victorian Visual Economy (Aldershot: Ashgate, 2000).
